What Ethnicity Are Modern Greeks?
Its been written many times in various books, journals and research papers that the ethnicity of most modern Greeks have nothing in common with the anicent Greeks. That the term “Greek” can only be attributed to a cultural fixation, but not ethnically since Greece consists mostly of ethnic Slavs, Vlachs, Albanians, christian Turks, Pomaks, Roma etc. The background of this is of course the settlements and invasions for the last 1000-years, or so, in the current region of Greece. Not to mention the Ottoman Empire.
