What equipment should I bring on a Florida Bow Boar Hunt?
Yes, a 60+ draw weight bow is plenty for boar. Arrows — any arrow shaft that works well for deer, elk, bear, moose, etc will also work well for boar. This one is up to personal preference, although wood shafts have been used very effectively for thousands of years. Clothing — durable, comfortable (not baggy, not tight), something that will not snag on the trees/brush/undergrowth, and ***quiet***. If your trousers, shirt, jacket, whatever are making a “zip,zip,zip” or “swoop,swoop,swoop” noise of any kind, the boar are definitely going to hear you long before you see them (and then you most likely won’t see them at all – but you might hear them taking off in the opposite direction). I suggest wool (or even a mostly-wool blend) for its ablity to “breathe” and keep a body warm even when soaked.
