What equipment do you need to become a hardcore dj?
Depends on what aspect you’re going in for. But keep in mind that many pretenders use the term “DJ” which is actually a recognised qualification that you study for, (many colleges do the necessary courses these days). If I’m doing some general mixing work when I’m out and about, I use a customised laptop I had built, which cost nearly £6,000. At home, I’ll use a Triton rack system costing just over £40,000, and when I’m at a club, aside from the previously mentioned laptop, I’ll be lugging around £3,000 worth of hardware. Unfortunatly, without knowing which of these aspects you’re interested in, I can’t tell whether I should recommend a mid-range Dell laptop for you, or a Behringer DDX 32/16 Digital Mixing Desk.
