Specific guidance is given within the Instructor Manual on instructor equipment configuration. In particular, all instructors should have a separate alternate source regulator available when training students. The use of Rebreather equipment and more complex open circuit equipment is allowed for diver training where the skill being taught is independent of the equipment configuration.
