What EPA sources are available for brownfields assessment and cleanup?
A number of funding sources are available for brownfields cleanup at both the federal and state levels. Federal funding sources include: • EPA Assessment Grants – The EPA provides funding for a grant recipient to inventory, characterize, assess, and conduct planning and community involvement related to brownfield sites. For further information see “Assesment Funding Sources.” • EPA Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Grants – The EPA provides RLF grants allowing recipients to capitalize a revolving loan fund from which to provide loans and subgrants to carry out cleanup activities at brownfield sites.
