What environmental practices does Flipswap use to recycle phones?

0

Flipswap is committed to keeping cell phones out of landfills, which means all of the phones and equipment we receive will be cleaned up and resold to someone who needs a cell phone or responsibly recycled. We use SKU-level tracking for each device we receive to closely assess its quality and processing for reuse or recycling. We guarantee that no scrap is sold or shipped to underdeveloped countries either. Scrap is processed domestically by ISO-certified partners with downstream tracking that adheres to our “zero e-waste” policy. During this process, all batteries, plastics, LCDs and circuit boards are separated for processing, precious metals and plastics are refined and toxic materials removed, and precious metals and plastics are resold. We comply with the California Cell Phone Recycling Act of 2004. And we’re working through additional environmental certifications to be completed by June 2010.
