What environmental issues do I need to be aware of when building Plastic Pipe Projects?
Environmental issues have been under debate regarding PVC & CPVC Plastics for decades without resolution. It is a fact that during the manufacturing of PVC plastics chlorine is used. It’s the “C” in PVC & CPVC. There is the hazard it could spill or leak from it’s holding tank at the manufacturing facility into the atmosphere affecting employees and surrounding parts of the community. It is typically transported in railroad tank cars. If the train is wrecked, the gas could leak out.
