What ended the Mexican American War?
The Mexican-American War ended on January 13, 1847 with the signing of the ‘Treaty of Cahuenga’ — A year later, the ‘Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo’ was signed on February 2, 1848, ending all hostilities between the two nations. The United States acquired the northern half of Mexico. This area later became the U.S. states of California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.
