What emissions does RICE NEHSAP regulate?
CO and HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants) such as 1, 3-butadiene, acetaldehyde, acrolein, benzene, ethylbenzene, formaldehyde, n-hexane, naphthalene, PAH, polycyclic organic matter, styrene, toluene, and xylene. Although not specifically regulated, particulate matter will also be reduced as a result of using aftertreatment technologies required by the regulation. The ruling requires the use of ULSD fuel which, in turn, will lower sulfur oxides and sulfate particulate.
