What emissions are associated with the Upstream Oil and Gas industry?
Emissions from the Upstream Industry are those associated with oil and natural gas exploration, production and transport, and include: fugitive emissions during exploration, production and transport; emissions from the extraction of hydrogen from natural gas (used in heavy oil upgrading); combustion emissions from producer generated fuel for the exploration and extraction of oil and gas, the upgrading of oilsands, as well as the transport and distribution of natural gas (including compressor station fuel consumption).
