While Jay was ending his final “Empire State of Mind” verse, Mama came up from her seat in the crowd onto the stage and started bobbing her head to the beat. Jay looked surprised but continued to bop to the beat and even kept rapping. When it came time to take a triumphant pose at the end of “Empire State of Mind” — a pose meant for Jay and Alicia Keys — Mama came up to the front and stood beside her peers and even did a b-girl pose next to them.
