The Big Bear Lake Valley (7,040 ft), and particularly Ceska Serenity (7,400+ ft), are well over a mile in elevation. In fact the valley is higher than Denver Colorado, the “Mile High City” itself. That means the oxygen percentage in the air you breathe at that altitude is less. This causes people who aren’t used to it to work harder at even the simplest activities.
