What else should a good redundancy package include?
Consider these as minimum standards for a well-handled redundancy: • written notice that end-of-employment is approaching (notice period) • in their redundancy kit: • their entitlements calculated to the last day, clearly explained, listing which agreement or award you based the calculations on, when and how you will make final payments • a letter explaining employment has ended (if needed for Centrelink) • a written, accurate, statement of service (if requested) • the offer of counselling and job search services.
