The area in which the appliance is installed should always be kept clear and free of combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids. Vent-free gas heaters must be installed be a qualified gas installer and local codes should be checked to ensure proper installation. Also, yearly cleaning, maintenance and professional inspection by a certified gas technician is required.
