What else does the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) do to collect child support for Arizona’s children?
DCSE has partnered with six private collection agencies to assist with cases where the non-custodial parent does not pay the court ordered child support. Cases that meet the criteria are referred by an automated monthly process to an external collection agency contracted with DCSE to collect the arrears balance in full. With each case referral, the collection agency is under contractual agreement to immediately attempt to contact the non-custodial parent and obtain a voluntary payment on the outstanding balance. All payments are to be made through the DCSE Clearinghouse, not the private vendor. These collection agencies are authorized vendors for DCSE, and should not be confused with private child support collection agencies. The collection services are provided by DCSE, and the custodial parent is not charged for their assistance. In fact, none of the collected child support is retained by the collection agency.
