What else does CISL or OSPI have planned for professional development in closing the achievement gap – during 2009-10?
We plan to host a video conference highlighting specific strategies in November 2009. We are partnering with the Office of the Education Ombudsman and Equity and Civil Rights to provide regional trainings on cultural competence, equity and family/community engagement. CISL provides regular trainings on cultural competence at other state conferences such as the Latino Summit, Washington Education Research Association, Starting Strong P-3 and Washington State Association for Multicultural Education. We will be sure to advertise those opportunities on our website.
