What else did Koalas in Hervey Bay offer?
Koalas are probably the biggest of the hostels/tour companies that go out to Fraser Island for the 3 day self guide camping trips. You can either book this in advance or upon arrival. Some of the trip packages should give you at least one nights free accommodation either at this Koalas or another of the chain, so look in to that. You normally get put in groups of eleven (they tell you eight or nine but they’re lying). One benefit to Koalas group trips are that your ‘meat’ can be purchased through them so you’re not having to trapse off to the supermarket to buy absolutely everything which is a painful experience with up to ten strangers. Other than Fraser, Koalas can book loads of other east coast excursions so look in to this. The hostel itself has a fair bit to offer.
