Appropriate elements: It has been a long tradition that churches in China want to focus on the following aspects in theological education: spirit, virtue, knowledge, health and community sense. NJUTS calls for spirit of love, truth, justice, humility and service the first day when the students arrive on campus. The goal of NJUTS is to train the qualified church workers and researchers for the Chinese Churches in 21st century. The Seminary aims to train the students who are clear in their calls and commission, determined to serve the churches in China, able to think theologically and do research on theology according to the contextual situation of their churches. When the churches were reopened in the 80s, the seminary training was more on the pastoral skills, especially on preaching and teaching.
