What electrical adaptor should I take for UK appliances when travelling to India?

Hi PF. I travel to India regularly and use a standard multi country travel adaptor in the hotel. BUT, the Indian electrical system is based heavily on the English system from yester-year. The majority of sockets are the old style English 5 Amp and 15 Amp style that existed before we moved to 13 Amp. Unfortunately, a standard travel adapter won’t be of use in them. I’ve got a 13 Amp to 5 Amp travel adapter that I bought there – and that’s what you will need. To see what a 5 Amp plug looks like, here’s a link. On the plus side, Indian voltage is the same as ours so all electrical stuff will work there – once you’ve got the plug bit sorted! Enjoy your trip.
