What efforts does the town make to encourage public participation and knowledge about the annual budget?
The town conducts meetings regarding the budget in open public meetings which are publicized in the local newspaper. We also post explanatory budget information on the City’s website for citizens to become better informed. The City Council also appoints a Citizens Budget Advisory Committee of approximately twenty people to jointly review and recommend revisions in conjunction with the Council members.
