What effect will the changes in the IHB statute have on school districts in Texas?
Effective January 1, 2010, school districts must ensure that all portable classroom buildings that meet the definition of a relocatable educational facility in § 1202.004 of the Occupations Code are certified under the Texas IHB program. Portable classrooms constructed in a manufacturing facility are already required to be certified, but now portable classrooms that are constructed at the school will also require certification.
