What effect will the bus station have on properties nearby?
GMPTE is working with representatives from properties near to the site to ensure that any potential issues caused by the bus station are designed out, where possible, or reduced. A number of properties will need to be acquired by Bolton Council and the businesses operating from those properties relocated. It is hoped that the Council will be able to acquire the land needed for the development by agreement with owners and occupiers but, if not, Bolton Council will consider promoting Compulsory Purchase Orders. Bolton Council will, through its Business Bolton Team, offer support in identifying alternative premises in the town centre.
