Because caffeine is a stimulant, it will exacerbate the stimulant side effects of Daytrana – for example, it could cause the heart rate to increase, anxiety, nervousness, or increased blood pressure. Because Daytrana is a controlled release medication, the side effects may not be as prominent as with an immediate release drug (such as regular Ritalin), still probably best to keep caffeine at a minimum when taking any ADHD medication.
