What effect does hydrogen bonding have on the physical properties of water?
A great affect. H bonding links the molecules together rather strongly so that water acts sort of like a super molecule. HOH which was not H bonded would be a very volatile gas like H2S because its molecular weight is low. But water’s high polarity and oxygen’s high electronegativity are ready made for H bonding, and we have liquid water on the planet and in our bodies, etc.
