What effect do enzymes in the intestine have on nutrients such as protien?
Once we digest food and reach to the intestine enzymes will digest or hydrolyze the nutrients into its small components( amino acids in the case of proteins) so that they could be absorbed by the intestine into the bloodstream, distributed throughout the body in order to be reused by body cells to biosynthesize new molecules (proteins).
