What effect did the bubonic plague have on British lit?
The Bubonic Plague sparked author Geoffrey Chaucer to examine life and society from a moralistic point of view. This is exemplified in “The Miller” one of the “Canterbury Tales.” A close examination of “The Miller” reveals a deep hatred for the conventional doctrines of The Church (The Church of England) and a longing for the simpler times of the renaissance.
