What effect did racism have on the British imperialism of Diego Garcia?
Well, all the people living there at the time the British took over were non-white islanders. Since they were evicted from their homes and generally disprespected, one could argue that racism was an issue. If they had been a bunch of British families living there, perhaps the situation would have been dealt with differently.
