What effect could cystic fibrosis have on a childs development?
You can look up CF, but I think that the main thing will be respirator issues, some minor loss of motor skills and co-ordination, late-walking or slow walking, while the brain is active and functional, sometimes very brilliant, to compensate for lack of physical activity, because of beathing difficulty. Medication is taken in large doses. Various braces can be worn, or none may be required if physical development is on par. I am trying to be accurate and NOT cross the boundary into Muscular Dystrophy which is worse. CF’s can be nearly ‘normal’ and virtually undetectable form the rest of the population.
