hi There is nothing you can put into icing to make it shimmery! But there are several products available to put onto the icing afterwards. By far the easiest is PME lustre spray which is available in gold and pearl (along with a whole range of other colours). You can get a very even coverage very easily with spray. The alternative would be sugarflair lustre powder, which you can dust onto icing using a large brush e.g. a new blusher brush. Tip a bit of the powder out onto some kitchen roll, knock off all the excess and gently dust the cake. You can get a really good pearl finish with pearl white or snowflake, BUT with gold you need to be careful not to get it streaky, the colours availble in lustre are Pastel Gold (palest), Antique Gold, Royal Gold, Gold Sparkle, and radiant gold. Sugarflair do make an edible paint, however it is incredibly difficult to get a smooth finish – so much so that I wouldn’t recommend it to paint a whole cake in.
