We buy raw cotton right at the beginning of the season, at right quality and cover larger volume that would be sufficient to carry us through for five/six months. The quality cotton that gives consistency in the quality of yarn is what that gives the premium. The consistent quality is what most textile mills miss out. Above all, we deploy our internal resources to buy our cotton requirements. What forced the recent turbulence in yarn market and how long this demand recession will last? The imposition of the `Cenvat’ rules on weaving sector partly triggered confusion in the market which brought down the weaving activity for some time, adversely impacting on the spinning sector and sale of yarn. The slowdown in demand in the textile retailing too had affected us.
