What Early Years provision should be included in the EDP2?
We would expect the EDP2s to reflect the work LEAs are doing to build on the Foundation Stage curriculum (for children from aged 3 to the end of the Reception), as set out in paragraph 87 of the guidance. We would also want to encourage LEAs to consider including references to work across the 0-5 age range, taking account of developments in Sure Start and childcare. This should not involve a lengthy repetition of material which is contained in other plans. The key requirement is that LEAs should consider and make explicit in their EDP2s the links between the work of schools and private and voluntary sector providers in Early Years.
