What duties does a cadet have with the Jacksonville Police Department?
Cadet officers are trained with the same basics as a police officer. Cadets, once trained, will be capable of taking reports, working the jail, or any other duties directed by the division commander. The cadet does not have law enforcement authority and cannot make arrests. The cadet is not issued a service weapon.
