What DSE spectacles will UCL pay for?
UCL will pay for ‘CR39’ (optical plastic) un-coated lenses, provided that they are prescribed to correct your vision at the intermediate distance required for viewing DSE. These lenses may be single vision, D28 bifocals, or Rodenstock Progressiv Start II varifocal lenses that carry a 90 day non-tolerance guarantee. The appropriate lenses will be fitted into a frame of your choice from the selection of high quality “free” frames as pictured on the Eyecare Plan itself, or into a private frame of your choice. Private frames must be paid for by you and remain your personal responsibility.
