What dose singing lessons do?
Singing lessons don’t necessarily change your singing voice per se, they improve your technique so you are able to sing better. They can help you widen your range, if that’s what you mean. I’m the perfect example of this. I love singing, and have been singing since the age of six, but I didn’t start serious vocal training until I was twelve. I improved a lot over just one year in the Chamber Choir in the eighth grade. Now, I’m taking voice lessons in the ninth and tenth grades. If you are looking to commit yourself to music, I recommend starting voice lessons. These help you strengthen your vocal stamina, improve your technique and musicianship, and of course give you something fun to do! If you are unhappy with your voice type, it can be changed but only to an extent, meaning that your range can be widened, but your true tessitura will most likely stay the same.
