What does Zestrons patent cover?
Zestron’ patent covers the technology required to produce high MFI polymers with good ESCR. In very broad terms, its claims cover: A method for selecting polymers with good processing characteristics and ESCR for tube manufacture. The method involves testing a polymer to determine its suitability for the production of commercially useful injection moulded tubes. Polymers and polymer blends that don’t pass the specified tests will inevitably result in tubes that fail commercial pack trials and are therefore unsuitable for the production of commercially useful tubes. • The formulation technology for making very high MFI polymers with good ESCR suitable for injection moulded tubes. Zestron’s formulation technology covers an exceptionally wide range of different polymers and blends thereof that can be made to simultaneously have very high MFIs and good ESCR.
