A child who is under the age of 18 is NOT automatically an unaccompanied minor. By designating your athlete as a UM, you are telling USAV that you have paid the airline an extra fee in order for the airline to accompany your child and have a designated USAV Camp Coach sign off for them at the end of their flight and escort them to their gate upon departing camp. Each airline has their own UM policy, so please check with your airline.
