What does unsolicited material mean?
What does it mean when an AGENT says they do not want unsolicited material? —–Answer—– David — “Unsolicited” means that no one has asked you to send material. When agents say they are not accepting unsolicited material, it means they are sufficiently busy with the clients they have not to be looking for new material at random. Some agents live off a few very productive clients; others seek out new work on their own, but don’t want to bother with reading unsolicited manuscripts.
