What does Unity teach about Jesus, His birth, and the passion?
Although Unity’s understanding of Jesus differs from mainstream Christian thought, the entire Unity philosophy is based upon the message of Jesus, the teachings of Jesus, the humanity of Jesus, as well as the divinity of Jesus. We understand Jesus to have rediscovered the divine essence and spark known as the “Christ” (our spiritual DNA – God’s image and likeness from which we were created.) He saw himself on equal footing with all people and made it very clear that He was not to be placed above God; “And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good?
