From 14th October overseas institutions requiring a Doctoral thesis from a UK based HE Institution should advise their users to go direct to EThOS. There is no need for library staff to mediate these requests. Researchers can check the EThOS service (from 14th October: ethos.bl.uk) direct to either download a thesis already digitised or to request a UK thesis be supplied. There will not normally be any charge to researchers for downloading the thesis (although this is dependant on the supplying institution’s policy).
