What does this mean: beware of little expenses a small leak sink a great ship?
It means that even a tiny leak can sink a great ship – ie. it doesn’t take an enormous gash in the side, it can be a tiny hole. Therefore, the analogy is telling you to watch out for the little expenses ($2 coffee every morning, buying the more expensive toilet paper, etc.), because it’s all those little expenses that add up to big losses in money in the end.
