What does the YWCA Pierce County do?
While we’re highly regarded for our work with survivors of domestic violence, we have never hesitated to pioneer new services to further the best interests of women, girls and the wider community. Today, we provide programs with the intent of eliminating racism and empowering women. • Racial Justice trainings and discussion groups provide an opportunity for the community to examine our collective challenges in achieving equity and develop strategies to ignite positive change. • Legal Services, Community Advocacy, the Women’s Support Shelter, and Transitional Housing provide support, counseling, and education to women, children, and the community with the goal of helping people achieve self-sufficiency. • Insights Domestic Violence Prevention provides education, training and support to women, professionals, businesses, and the community. • Youth Programs provide Teen Dating Violence Prevention education and training, classes to girls at Remann Hall teaching about healthy relationships,
