What does the written/knowledge test consist of?
The knowledge exam consists of two parts. The first consists of 10 questions regarding traffic signs. You must answer all 10 of the questions correctly in order to take the second part of the exam. The second part of the written test is known as the general knowledge exam and consists of 25 questions. You must answer at least 80% of the questions correctly in order to pass the second part of the knowledge exam. If you are under the age of 18, you must wait at least 15 days before you can retake the exam. The questions on the exam are based on the information provided in the Virginia Driver’s Manual.
