What does the West Virginia Office of Miners Health, Safety and Training do?
The West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health Safety and Training (MHST) supervises the enforcement of the states mining laws and rules and helps to train and certify mine employees. The agencys goal is to protect the safety and health of people who work in or with the mines in West Virginia. In addition, the agency protects and preserves mining property and property used in mining activities.
