What does the Watchdog watch?
Watchdog is a program that detects and removes inactive terminal sessions from gemini. Usually inactive sessions are the result of users not logging off when they are finished with the system. These sessions continue to use system resources and present an opportunity for security violations and abuse. After 15 minutes of inactivity, a warning message is sent to idle terminals, and after 5 more minutes, the session is terminated. For more info, see the Watchdog web page.
