What does the Turkish investor mean for the government here?
A large number of Turks have successfully completed the adaptation process. There are close to 15 thousand Turkish businesses in the Netherlands. The real problem is caused by the way politicians define integration and their implementations. The Dutch never want a foreigner to play the main role, they want them to do business in the related sectors. In short, they don’t allow us to be the main actor in the business. For example, is there a cleaning company? They want to see you as the cleaner, not as the boss. Because of their colonist history, they always see themselves as superior, they look down on others. In their speeches, they define us as a minority, of foreign origin, although we are citizens of this country. After 50 years, Europe still considers us to be temporary. This is the problem.
