What does the Trojan Marching Band do?
The first priority of the Trojan Band is to support USC’s athletic program. The close relationship that exists between the TMB and USC’s varsity teams is unique. Not only does the TMB perform at all home, away, and bowl football games, it also performs at most home games of the other varsity sports. From Men’s Basketball to Women’s Water Polo, the Spirit of Troy provides a home court advantage for all of our athletic teams. A contingent of the band accompanies the football team to every away game. Included are the annual full band trips to the San Francisco Bay Area for match-ups with Stanford or Cal, and a biennial trip to South Bend to battle the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Of course the TMB isn’t just about football. In fact, it is not uncommon to hear the strains of “Fight On” and “Tribute to Troy” at other major post-season tournaments around the country as well.
