What does the “Timeout waiting for connection to remote host domain.org” message mean?
This occurs when PowWow cannot reach the person you are trying to contact before a time-out occurs. Reasons for this include: • The person you are trying to reach is no longer running PowWow. • The person you are trying to reach is using a SLIP/PPP emulator on their Internet service provider’s computers. See A6), above, for an explanation of why this will not work. • The person you are trying to reach is behind a firewall or proxy server.
