What does the term SEER rating mean?
A. SEER is an acronym that stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. An air conditioner’s SEER rating tells you how efficient the unit is utilizing electricity. A unit manufactured prior to 1992 had a SEER rating of 6.0. In 1992 the government set forth a measurement of minimum SEER rating standards which must be 10.0.
