What does the term Minister Of The Lord in The Recovery mean?
The term Minister of the Lord in the Recovery was a descriptive phrase suggested by eminent lawyers when the church was renewing their trust documents after a division in the 1970s. The term was suggested as a means of allowing the church to identify those who remained with the original fellowship and in particular provided a reference point as to who were subscribing to the faith in the unlikely event of a division. It describes the person the Brethren look to for universal leadership, following the unbroken line from Mr John Nelson Darby to the present.
