What does the term ennobled mean in relation to goat breeding and showing?

ennoble – give a title to someone; make someone a member of the nobility The ABGA needs to develop a program that tracks the true production of our does and bucks. At present time, an animal can be honored with the term Ennobled if it produces 3 good kids in its life time. With the current Flushing Programs, this number could be 3 out of hundred of kids. I do not feel that is much of an accomplishment. I would much rather have an animal that produced 15 good kids out of 30. The second animal would be a much more valued animal in any herd. The ABGA’s role is to identify these truly superior genetics and have the tools to improve the breed. ABGA needs to identify the doe’s ability to raise kids naturally as well as her milk production. At present time we have too many surrogate does and not enough true information about our current ABGA does. All producers, purebreds and commercial producers would benefit by real facts on production of these animals.
